HomeController is a personal project I started for a class in Thomas More. It's a web application that can control various network devices connected to my home network. It is still very much a work in progress. There are lots of new skills I learned scince I started this project so lots still change. I'm currently working on it in my spare time.

It's features? It can controll ledstrips and wake up computers. It's still very basic. You can add new devices with their name, ip and mac address. There is a way to wake up computers that support the Wake On Lan protocol. The other functionality controlls led strips. There are a few build-in animations on the ledstrips and you can also make the complete strip one specific color. It is written in PHP and uses a MariaDB database. It is hosted on an ubuntu server with nginx webserver.

After I started this project I came back to it multiple times to change lots of things when I learned a better way to do them. I predict that in a year, the application will look nothing like it does now.

The project is a webscraper written in C#. It is a project for windows system administration, a course in Thomas More. The goal was to make a console application that scraped the web with the Selenium framework. I also added a windows forms applicatoin to it. This webscraper has 3 major functions, searching on youtube, searching on a job site and retrieving data from the f1 statistics website. The data can be exported to 5 different filetypes: .csv, .json, .xml, .sql and to .html.

This project is a mobile application written in React Native with Typescript. It is a team project for a class at HAMK.

The application is a trading app for books. You add the books you have and would like to trade. Additionally, you add the books that you would like to have. The application then matches you with someone who has the book you want, and vice versa. You can then chat with the other person and arrange a meeting to trade the books.

The application is written in React Native with Typescript. The API is written in Node.js with Express.js and uses a sql database hosted on google cloud. The API uses Typeorm to connect to the database. The application itself is also hosted on google cloud engine.

For a class in Thomas More, a team where I was a part of completed the requirements analysys of a project for a client. This project contained: making a use case diagram with its descriptions and a prototype. The prototype was made in Axure RP. The work of the project was shared evenly between all the team members, so everyone did a little bit of everything.

During this project, I learned how to discuss requirements of a project with a team. It was more difficult then I thought and I learned a lot from it.

Job application training is a project that I worked on for a client. It was completed with a team of 4 members. The client hosts a job application training every year for the 3th year students from the IT Factory of Thomas More in Geel. Originally, all information was kept on paper. The client wanted to digitalize the process since it was getting to much work to keep track of all the information.

The application is build with Laravel. It is designed to automate the process of the job application training. The key components of the application are: managing students, managing companies that participate in the training, managing feedback questionairs. The students can also log in to the application to book timeslots with recruiters from the participating companies. After the training, the students must fill in a feedback questionair.

My share in this project lies with the managing editions, managing of the questionairs, managing of the students and the page to fill in the questionairs. This list is going to get expanded in the future because the project is not yet completed.

From this project I learned a lot about developing with a team. I never worked with the agile method before. Building a project for a client like this also helped me getting to know how to behave in a professional environment and how to have project specific meetings that are understandable for people not involved in it.

The Spelotheek project is a library like renting system for board games, toys and other items. It is developed for a primary school in my area. A group of teachers had acquired a budget to buy educational equipment for the teachers to use in their classes. The teachers wanted to make sure that the equipment was not lost and always returned to storage. They came up with the idea to make a library like system where the teachers could rent the equipment for a certain amount of time.

It is build upon a previously existing web application that was written by the school's IT teacher. This web application is an extension on the popular Smartschool platform. The biggest challenge was to make the application work with the existing codebase. The IT teacher didn't have much experience with PHP, so lot's of the code was not written in an industry standard way. I had to adapt to the way the code was written and make it work with the new code I wrote.

The application is written with a combination of php (mainly for database transactions) and html/css/js with jquery. It uses a mysql database. The application is daily used by the teachers and other staff of the school.
